The Cocktail App Review
If you're a fan of cocktails you should check out The Cocktail App for the iPhone. It's based on the famous cocktails poster by Konstantin Datz and is basically a digital representation of the poster, with a couple of added extras to make the most of your iPhone.
What's great about The Cocktail App is you can view details on how to replicate many of the most popular cocktails, giving you and your friends all you need to get the party swinging.
On first opening the app you can tell it's related to the Datz poster. The art deco style and clean and simple layout is so cool you just want to knock up a Manhattan, kick back and chill out.
Before knocking up your favorite drink you might want to check out the 3 main features of the app. The first and most useful is the cocktail list. This displays all the cocktails available in a scrolling list, clicking one takes you through to a details page where you can find out on how to make it. The details page has 2 tabs, details and preparation. Details includes some history on the cocktail and the ingredients needed to create it. The preparation tab shows how to make the cocktail.
The Cocktails App is a virtual barman you can take with you wherever you go.
Along with viewing the cocktails in a list view you can also select to view cocktails by ingredients. This is excellent for deciding what you want based on ingredients (rather than selecting something based on it's name). The ingredients functionality is great and simple to use, click on a few ingredients and the number of cocktails available show up at the top of the screen. Click the number and you're shown the cocktails available with the option of jumping through to each drinks details page.
The final feature of the app is a favourites page, mark a cocktail down as a favourite and it'll appear in your favourites list. Quick access to your favourite tipple.
If you love getting creative with your drinks but haven't got room for Konstantin's giant poster you should check out The Cocktail App and discover what it takes to become a master mixmeister.
